Day 01

Yangon

After being welcomed at the airport by our staff member holding a sign with your name on it, you will be driven to the Hotel. There will be an orientation at the hotel and then a traditional lunch Myanmar lunch at the Padonmar restaurant.

After lunch, we’ll visit Chaukhtet Kyi Pariyahti monastery to photograph monks studying.

Later in the afternoon, a special visit to the visually incredible Shwedagon Pagoda which presents literally unlimited opportunities for people and architectural shooting. We’ll stay late to photograph the candle lights offering to the Pagoda.

We then proceed to dinner at Shankan Chinese restaurant.

Day 02

Yangon – Bagan

(By flight)

Early morning hotel check out and flight to Bagan. We will be met by our driver at the airport and driven to the hotel where we’ll freshen up and prepare for the day’s photography sessions. Began is world famous among photographers for it’s over 2,500 ancient religious buildings which present breathtaking opportunities for shooting all times of the day but especially at sunrise and sunset.

Bagan photography: Shwezigon Pagoda, Pillars and villagers carrying things on their heads, monks with Umbrella are just a few of the opportunities we’ll encounter. We’ll visit the Pariyathi Gu Kyaung to photograph the novices preparing for lunch as well.

Lunch is at BBB best Myanmar restaurant. For those who miss American food, you’ll have a chance to enjoy it at this restaurant. After lunch, we’ll take a short afternoon break to rest or process shots.

Afternoon photography: Sulamani Temple with best ancient murals, monks praying with candles and incense make for more amazing opportunities for shooting. We proceed to the Dhammayangyi temple with both a reclining Buddha and twin Buddhas, followed by the best sunset shot in Bagan from the Pyathetgyi Temple.

We go directly to dinner at one of the best local restaurants.

Day 03

Bagan

We are up early to photograph the sunrise from Shwesandaw Pagoda to get a picture of the misty morning over thousands of Pagodas. Return to the Hotel for breakfast.

Morning photography: Nattaung teak monastery and Ananda Temple known as the temple with the most beautiful Buddha images. Great opportunities to engage Monks as well as shoot these venerable buildings

Lunch is at a local Myanmar restaurant.

After lunch Photography: We visit Bagan’s traditional lacquerware making families, great panoramic view from Thitsawadi temple.

In the late afternoon, a special visit to Minanthu village has been arranged to photograph the weavers, the ladies with cheroots and people carrying water from the lake. We will discover village life and have the opportunity to interact with the local people, many of whom are willing to pose.

Proceed to dinner at Tharaba restaurant with Chinese food.

Day 04

Bagan – Kampalet

(By surface, 7 Hrs)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kampalet, about a seven hour drive. We’ll stop on the way for lunch and to visit a photogenic local village. We arrive in Kampalet on time to check into our Hotel and get in a sunset shot. Dinner is at a local restaurant.

Day 05

Kampalet

We are up early for a first light photography session in the Kampalet village where people are cooking, washing and preparing for work. We will then spend our day exploring other easy to reach tribal villages, meeting the tattooed women and capturing images of the tribal culture.

Lunch is in the village. Dinner is at a local restaurant.

Day 06

Kampalet – Bagan

(By surface, 7 Hrs )

After breakfast, we drive back to Bagan, lunch is en route and we arrive at our Bagan, hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore as you wish.

Photograph an evening sunset from a picturesque village just outside of Bagan.

Day 07

Bagan – Mandalay

(By flight)

After breakfast, we prepare for our flight to Mandalay, check out and proceed to the airport.

When we arrive at Mandalay airport we are met by our driver at the airport and driven to the hotel.

On our road to Mandalay, we’ll visit Amarapura to see the Mahagandayon monastery with over 1000 monks lined up for lunch. In Mandalay we have lunch at Ko’s Kitchen Thai food. After hotel check in and a break we drive back to Amarapura and photograph the U Bein Bridge area, one of the most iconic photo shoots in Myanmar. We will walk the bridge looking for our special shots and then shoot models with decorative Thanaka on their faces. Finally we’ll have the privilege of photographing the sunset over U Bein Bridge.

Dinner is at the Golden Duck with best roasted duck restaurant, then back to the hotel.

Day 08

Mandalay – Mingun – Innwa – Mandalay

(By boat)

We rise early to leave around 5:00 for the Jetty and an early morning boat ride to Mingun. We must be at Mingun Myatheindan Pagoda early morning for the special early light in order to photograph the monks, nuns and villagers at the Myatheindan Pagoda.

After seeing sunrise from the Ayeyarwaddy river. We’ll also walk to the world’s biggest Pagoda with a big crack where we will find monks and nuns with parasols. We’ll also have a chance to photograph the world’s biggest ringing bell. We then head back to Mandalay.

Lunch will be at City Café. After lunch we proceed to Innwe where we will visit the Bargahar teak wood monastery for an afternoon shoot.

For dinner we drive to the A Little bit of Mandalay restaurant and enjoy what many consider the best Myanmar food.

Day 09

Mandalay – Kyaingtong

(By flight)

After breakfast and hotel check out we drive to Mandalay airport for our flight to Kyaingtong. Upon arrival in Kyaingtong we are met and driven to the hotel.

We next visit the Palaung Village to photograph members of the Palaung tribe in their village, working on their farms, weaving and with their water buffalo.

Back in the Hotel we freshen up and go out for dinner at local restaurant called Golden Banyan.

Day 10

Kyaingtong – Villages

(By surface)

Early morning drive to Pintauk Village to photograph the Akha tribe and Eng tribes. We’ll have to drive about an hour and walk about 45 minute to reach their villages.

We’ll meet the Eng tribes known as black teethed people and we’ll photograph them in their daily life. We’ll walk to an Akha village and photograph villagers there. We’ll have a picnic lunch in between. We’ll also have some tribal people allow us to take their photos in the rice fields followed by a special sunset shoot opportunity over the villages.

We then return to Kyaingtong. Go out for dinner at Golden Banyan.

Day 11

Kyaingtong – Yangon

(By flight)

Early morning visit to the colorful, active and authentic local Kyaintong market. Fly to Yangon, where we are met at the airport and driven to our hotel.

After lunch, the afternoon is free for you to explore as you wish, shop or process your shots. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the evening.

Yangon Departure

On time transfer to the International airport to connect with flight to International destinations.
